Manufacturer's Specifications

We are watching a transformation in the way Architects and Specifiers gather the data used to make product decisions and “write” them into their projects (i.e. Building Information Modeling, BIM). The traditional “spec book” clearly will be around for a while, but we recognize the importance of making information available electronically, including specifications and details. Many decision-makers are located in areas that make routine hard copy updates impractical. Specifiers are often seeking the most current product specifications and look to the Web or call us to see what is new. We promote the use of Web Site information to help specifiers include the important information and details so critical to a complete project document. The days when architectural details were laboriously drafted by hand are pretty much over. The architect is most likely to say: “I downloaded the drawing from the manufacturer’s website.”
